Summary

If you receive a “Verify Your Email” message from Summ without creating an account, it means someone else entered your email address during the sign-up process. You should not verify the email or attempt to access the account.

Why did I receive this email?

This email is automatically sent when someone enters an email address on the Summ sign-up page.

If you did not create a Summ account yourself, your email address was likely entered by a third party. This can happen by mistake or as part of an attempted scam.

Is this a scam?

Summ is a legitimate crypto tax accounting platform. However, malicious actors could sign up by entering random email addresses.

In some cases, scammers create accounts using email addresses they do not own and add misleading or false data. This could lead recipients to believe they have funds waiting for them, allowing scammers to pressure them into taking further action.

What should I do?

If you did not create this account, take the following steps:

  1. Do not click the verification link in the email.

  2. Do not attempt to log in or reset the password.

  3. Reply to the email and ask us to delete the account.

What happens if I do nothing?

If the email is not verified:

  • The account remains unverified

  • Our systems continue to monitor and remove suspicious sign-ups

No further action is required unless you want the account deleted.

Important notes

  • Summ will never ask you to deposit funds to “unlock” an account

  • Summ will never claim you have crypto assets unless you entered them yourself

  • Summ is not a wallet or exchange; it's an accounting software that you can enter any data you want. Check What is Summ? for more information.

  • Do not engage with anyone claiming to represent Summ outside of our official emails and in-app chat.
